Love’s composition, featuring lyrics and vocals alongside ukulele, is a party of camaraderie centered around musical gatherings. The song recounts a specific evening where Love was encouraged to continue playing his fiddle, capturing the warmth and spirit of those moments “when we’re playin’ at Norris and Beth’s.” It also reflects on the unique quality of Celtic music, as described by an old friend: “celtic music has its own special way / You just have to feel it and drink in the sound / Cause your thinking is square but the music is round.”

The recording features a collaborative effort from a talented group of musicians: Linda Love on accordion, Ken Loney on rhythm guitar, nick russell on guitar, Stan Russell on bass, and Bethany Houghton on violin. Russell also handled the recording, production, mixing, and mastering of the track. The song’s lyrics detail a tender moment observed during one of these gatherings, with Norris gently placing his hand on Beth’s shoulder, prompting a toast “with the old parting glass.” Love explicitly states the song is “inspired by our dear friends Norris and Beth,” solidifying its role as a genuine expression of gratitude and affection. “Norris and Beth’s” is available now and serves as a testament to the enduring power of friendship and the unifying force of music.
