Comment: Weak Biden’s mandate? After all, he got more votes than Obama

Americans like simple and powerful messages. So I would have one in doubt about the mandate for the 46th President-elect of the United States. Joe Biden won more votes than Barack Obama in the “revolutionary” 2008 election. These are facts, not fake news.

By the way, fake news, one of Donald Trump’s favorite phrases, is the big loser of Tuesday’s vote. Half-truths, rumors, or outright lies were unleashed by the defeated president, and in fact he is still unleashed with the same malevolent regularity with which he exchanged work duties for the greens of his favorite golf courses.

After all, the news that the front media had given victory to Biden caught Trump with five irons in his hand. Bending the truth and spreading unsubstantiated information during the coronavirus pandemic was something so dangerous in Trump’s submission that I welcome the triumph of the Democratic candidate just because of it.

Even while waiting for the next package of votes from Pennsylvania, Arizona or Georgia, Joe Biden left no one in doubt that fighting the covid-19 is his clear priority. After all, everything else will follow from mastering it.

Biden will have to be very careful not to be Obama’s No. 2, which will not be easy when he has spent 8 years as a vice president alongside this politician. Nor must it give in to the impression that victory over Trump is tantamount to uprooting, eradicating ‘trumpism’, which, from beyond the ocean, rightly resembles Julie Urbišová.

Joe Biden will certainly be able to count on the support of the vast majority of the world’s statesmen and institutions. From their congratulatory telegrams, we can generally read how pleased they were with the loss of the man with the orange face and the red cap. Perhaps their warmth towards the Bidenian US will withstand them, and the Americans will be pleased that in the eyes of the world they have broken free from the box of Trump’s subjects.

That it represents a real change, 77-year-old Joe Biden, who does not have a magic wand, will have to work hard. There will be no defense time.

I would be very interested to know how he intends to build bridges in a divided American society. The current atmosphere is so toxic that Biden’s served olive sprig could probably be shot with a bazooka in the current state of mind.

Even supporters of the democratic pro-winner should step back and show honor to the losers, although they will probably have to overcome enough. They should remember the pain and disappointment they felt four years ago.
