Commanders of the Russian army received an order to start the invasion – US intelligence

The US believes that the Kremlin leadership is “moving forward” and acting according to its invasion plans, although it officially denies this.

According to information obtained by American intelligence, the commanders of the Russian army were ordered to proceed with the implementation of the plan to invade Ukraine. Now Russian field commanders are drawing up plans for maneuvers in their sectors. About it informs CBS News.

According to intelligence, “they are doing everything that American commanders would do if they were ordered to launch an invasion.”

After warnings of the imminence of a large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, US President Joe Biden on Friday, February 18, said he was confident that Vladimir Putin had already made such a decision, and that Russian troops would launch an attack in the “coming days.”

Secretary of State Anthony Blinken believes the Kremlin is “moving forward” and acting on its invasion plans, despite Russian denials.

Blinken refers to provocations by Russian or separatist forces this weekendas well as to reports from the command of the armed forces of Belarus about the continuation joint military exercises with the Russian Federation, which were originally supposed to end on February 20.

At the same time, Blinken does not leave hope for a way out of the crisis through diplomacy.

“My job as a diplomat is to use every possible means to prevent a war. If anything can be done in this regard, I will do it,” Blinken said on Sunday, noting that Joe Biden is ready to meet with Putin at any time in any format if it helps prevent war.

According to Blinken, even if the process has begun, as long as the tanks are not moving, and the planes are not flying, and the aggression has not fully unfolded, diplomats will do everything in their power to prevent war. At the same time, the Secretary of State emphasized that it is necessary to prepare for any of the possible scenarios.

However, the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov thinksthat, at least in the short term, a large-scale invasion of the Russian Federation is not expected, since for this purpose not a single offensive strike group has yet been formed in any area where Russian troops have surrounded Ukraine.

In his opinion, talk that the invasion will begin tomorrow or the day after tomorrow is inappropriate. At the same time, the minister warns against underestimating the threat.

“Let’s look at the 22nd, they have some kind of shamanic event there, where they will gather with tambourines and, possibly, make some interesting stupid decisions,” the head of the Defense Ministry said, adding that these decisions could lead to the refusal of the Russian Federation from the Minsk agreements.

Recall that the authors of the journalistic investigation Conflict Intelligence Team stated that Russian troops put on alert for a massive invasion of Ukraine. It is reported that along with the intensification of hostilities in the Donbass, the Kremlin continues to transfer its troops closer to the borders of Ukraine. New echelons of military equipment appear within 30 km from Ukraine.

Previously Focus reported that the British press writes about the plans of the Kremlin leadership drop the most powerful conventional bomb on Ukraine. The publication of the Daily Star notes that the “father of all bombs” is intended to “break the spirit” of Kiev. This is the strongest pressurization from the foreign media that has appeared so far.
