An unforgettable experience for 73 children from six schools in the Osa canton, in the districts of Bahía Drake and Sierpe, was what was experienced when they walked to their study centers and then returned home on their own bicycles.
Thanks to the initiative of the “Yo Impulso” Foundation, in which the cyclist Andrey Fonseca, who represented the country at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, is a member, together with several people and companies that made this second donation possible in Osa.
The delivery began at the Rincón de Osa school together with the nearby Alto de San Juan and Chocuacho schools. Later the caravan moved to the Almirante School together with the schools of El Campo and Riyito.
Although the children wore their masks, the emotion of seeing that they would finally have a bicycle was reflected in their wide eyes.
Some in silence without losing sight of their gifts, others laughed more, two girls a little away from the group had tears in their eyes, while the parents, in the distance under the shade of a mango tree, They cheered incessantly until the last child received his bike regardless of the 35 degree temperature.
This is the second time that the “Yo Impulso” Foundation has given away bicycles. The first went to 86 children from the Cabagra indigenous territory, located in an area of Buenos Aires in Puntarenas.
