Colorado Avalanche rejoice after dominating Montreal Canadiens

Colorado Avalanche celebrates their third win in four games in the NHL, beating the Montreal Canadiens 8-4.

Lehkonen (3rd, 16th), Byram (7th) and Nieto (9th) give the guests a clear lead at the Bell Center in Montreal in the first third.

Anderson (17′) at least managed to get the goal back, but Rantanen (22′) and Compher (24′) dampened any comeback hopes of the home side.

Gurianov (40′) makes it 2-6 on the power play before MacKinnon’s goal to make it 2-7 restores Colorado’s five-goal lead (49′).

Ylonen (49′) and Matheson (11′) provided brief hope for the Canadiens, then Nichushkin made it 8-4.

Colorado is now sixth in the Western Conference, while Montreal loses for the seventh straight season and is second to bottom in the Eastern Conference.
