Wilson ruiz, former Minister of Justice, has urged the Attorney General’s Office too take decisive action regarding a disciplinary complaint filed against Alfredo Saade. Ruiz emphasized that the evidence, including a video of saade shouting “re-election” during a congressional session, is clear and sufficient for the Attorney General’s Office to act.
Ruiz argued that failing to act on such evidence would be a disregard for the Constitution. He highlighted the testimony of other congressmen, such as Representative Elena MarĂa Garrido, who he stated has faced “attacks without mercy” for speaking truthfully about the President’s actions during the session.
Speaking to Semana, Ruiz stressed the urgency of the situation, calling the video evidence “blunt” and urging the Attorney General’s Office to “suspend him.” He further elaborated on the nature of the complaint, describing the verbal process as a “summary process, agile and fast,” where extensive evidence gathering is not necessary.
Ruiz expressed his hope that the Attorney General’s Office would demonstrate its independence and impartiality by acting on the complaint, prioritizing the Constitution and legality.
