The announcement by President Iván Duque to allow people from municipalities that have more than 70% of completed vaccine schedules against COVID-19 do not use the mask in open spacesis the sample of how the country has advanced in terms of the measures implemented to face the pandemic that arrived in the country in March 2020 with the first confirmed case.

Since then, many measures have been implemented by the National Government, such as mandatory preventive isolation, which prevented people from taking to the streets for more than 15 days. as well as the use of the mask, and the correct hand washing, which were a constant throughout these last two years.

The National Vaccination Plan has been in the country for more than a year and has left positive figures that have allowed the National Government to modify some of the measures already implemented. Little by little, the normality that society had before the pandemic has been returning, however, there is still a risk of contagion, which is why the Ministry of Health insists that people who have not been vaccinated do so as well as those they have not completed the scheme.
