Colleagues Story of Tjahjo Kumolo’s Work While Being Jokowi’s Minister

Jakarta

Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (MenPPPA) Bintang Puspayoga and Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono attended the tahlilan at the MenPAN-RB funeral home Tjahjo Kumolo tonight. They also talked about Tjahjo’s figure during his tenure in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet.

Bintang said that Tjahjo Kumolo was an extraordinary figure in guarding the Sexual Violence Act (UU TPKS). Tjahjo, at that time, strongly supported the TPKS Law to be passed.

“When we supervised the TPKS Law in the team, he was extraordinary. In addition to the teamwork that has definitely been given to us, we communicate that sometimes he also oversees it,” said Bintang at the Tjahjo Kumolo funeral home on Jalan Widya Chandra, South Jakarta, Saturday. (2/7/2022).

“Very supportive. Very much. Because that’s related to institutional affairs, related to UPTD, and Menpan RB if we talk about institutions, it’s always being monitored,” he continued.

Bintang also revealed that he and Tjahjo Kumolo’s wife, Erni Guntatri, were at the last moment Tjahjo breathed his last. “I had a chance to visit, then at the last moment I was there too. Same with Mrs. Erni and family. When Mr. Tjahjo was last,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Basuki revealed that Tjahjo was a reliable figure, both in the PUPR Ministry and others. “I, whatever I often do, for example, there are organizational changes and about bureaucratic reform, I know he never said no. Yes, but with notes like this,” said Basuki.

“So it is very helpful for the organization, I think not only for PUPR, but for all of them because this is his character,” he added.

MenPAN-RB Tjahjo Kumolo passed away Friday (1/7) at 11.10 WIB. Tjahjo died at Abdi Waluyo Hospital, Central Jakarta, after being treated for an infection.

The deceased was buried at the Heroes Cemetery (TMP) Kalibata, South Jakarta. The family revealed that Tjahjo Kumolo had been treated in three different hospitals with complex illnesses before he breathed his last on Friday (1/7).

“You were sick yesterday, there was an infection in the stomach that continued to spread to the lungs, kidneys, liver and was already using breathing apparatus. Pulmonary aids, heart, all kinds of dialysis. In a stable condition, you have to use equipment, so be a doctor as much as possible. There are three hospitals, Abdi Waluyo, Harapan Kita, and RSPAD,” said Tjahjo Kumolo’s son-in-law, Detri Warmanto, at TMP Kalibata, South Jakarta.
