Collaboration with Leica, Xiaomi 12S Series Officially Released

Gadgetren – After many leaks circulated on the internet, Xiaomi finally officially released its newest flagship cellphone through the Xiaomi 12S series which includes three models namely the Xiaomi 12S, 12S Pro, and 12S Ultra.

Through this new product, it is interesting that Xiaomi collaborates with a professional camera lens provider for photography known as Leica. Apart from Xiaomi, Huawei previously collaborated with Leica to be present in the camera of its device.

Talking about the price, the Xiaomi 12S is priced at 3,999 Yuan or 8.9 million rupiah with 8GB RAM capacity and 128GB internal storage. While the Xiaomi 12S Pro was released at a price of 4,699 Yuan or 10.5 million rupiah which has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.

Then the Xiaomi 12S Ultra as the series with the highest specifications is priced at 5,999 Yuan or the equivalent of 13.4 million rupiah. In general, these three flagship phones carry different features, especially on the screen and photography. But all three have some things in common.

Xiaomi 12S and Xiaomi 12S Pro offer similar color variants, namely black, purple, green, and white. While the Xiaomi 12 Ultra only provides two colors including green and black.

For the screen size, the Xiaomi 12S carries a 6.28-inch span, while the Xiaomi 12S Pro and Xiaomi 12 Ultra use a size of 6.73 inches. All three have Dolby Vision, Hi Res Audio, and Harman Kardon certifications and are protected by an anti-scratch layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

Each wrapped in glass or leather that looks premium. Another similarity, both the Xiaomi 12S, 12S Pro, and 12S Ultra are powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset from Qualcomm.

Xiaomi 12S

The 6.28-inch Xiaomi 12S display supports an AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels), 120Hz refresh rate, 12bit, DCI-P3, 1100 nits brightness and 419ppi pixel density.

The battery has a capacity of 4,500mAh which is equipped with 67W fast charging, 50W wireless fast charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. The rear camera consists of three lenses in the form of a 50MP Sony IMX707 main lens with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), a 13MP wide-angle lens, and a 5MP macro lens.

Xiaomi 12S Pro

While the 6.73-inch Xiaomi 12S Pro screen has a 2K resolution, E5 AMOLED LTPO 2.0 panel, dynamic refresh rate from 1-120Hz, pixel density of 522ppi, brightness level of 1500 nits, 10bit, and HDR 10+.

The battery has a capacity of 4,600mAh which is equipped with 120W fast charging, 50W fast wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. At the back of the body are three rear cameras which include a 50MP main lens with Sony IMX707 sensor and OIS, a 50MP wide-angle lens with f/1.9 aperture, and a 50MP periscope lens with 2x optical zoom.

Xiaomi 12S Ultra

Finally, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra with a 6.73-inch screen has a 2K resolution AMOLED E5 LTPO 2.0 panel that supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 1500 nits brightness, 10bit, 522ppi pixel density, and HDR10+. This device is also IP68 certified which means it is resistant to splashing water and dusty environments.

The Xiaomi 12S Ultra has a different camera module compared to its two brothers which is circular in shape which occupies the top of the back body completely with the Leica logo inscription.

There are three rear cameras in the form of a 50MP main lens with a 1″ Sony IMX989 sensor and an f/1.9 aperture and HyperOIS, a 48MP wide-angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture, and a 48MP periscope lens with 5X optical zoom equipped with OIS and an f/4.1 aperture.

The battery has a capacity of 4,860mAh which is equipped with 67W fast charging, 50W wireless fast charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. For battery efficiency, this device uses a special chipset made by Xiaomi called G1.

The CPU also has a cooling system with a 3D cutting edge system which is claimed to be more optimal in dissipating excess heat in the device. In addition, it has RAM technology
LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1 internal storage.
