The KNMI issued a code yellow for the entire country on Thursday due to the risk of heavy wind gusts, Rijkswaterstaat reports. The ANWB also warns drivers in the morning rush hour for harsh weather conditions and busy highways. Reports of storm damage are coming in from all over Brabant.

Reports of storm damage have been made throughout Brabant. In Tilburg, Hulsel, Hapert, Breda, Bergen op Zoom, Etten-Leur, Den Bosch, Roosendaal, Zevenbergen and Moerdijk, among others.

‘Wind and showers determine the weather today’, says Raymond Klaassen, weatherman at Weerplaza. ‘Locally there can be a lot of rain. In some showers there is a chance of thunderstorms, hail and heavy wind gusts of 75 to 100 kilometers per hour. The wind in the southwest and south is especially strong during the morning rush hour. But it’s also turbulent this afternoon.’
–
The expected wind gusts could cause local damage, according to the weatherman. Strong gusts of wind can cause branches to fall off trees. Loose objects on the street can also go for a walk. An active disturbance is moving across the country during the night and morning, resulting in heavy showers with possible thunderstorms. It occasionally rains heavily and the wet conditions will hinder traffic.’
