Coahuila and Hidalgo will have elections on October 18, confirms the TEPJF

“When making an analysis of the arguments issued by the political parties, it was concluded that they are unfounded, so the magistrates and magistrates confirmed the contested agreement,” the TEPJF reported in a release .

The members of the Superior Chamber considered the arguments of PAN and Morena against the INE agreement to be unfounded.

On April 1, the General Council of the INE agreed to attract the electoral processes of Coahuila and Hidalgo to suspend them due to the health emergency caused by COVID-19. Later, it agreed that the elections would take place on October 18.

However, earlier this month, PAN and Morena contested, after considering that the electoral body should consult the General Health Council and the Ministry of Health before resuming the processes suspended by the epidemic.

Morena pointed out that the INE should have consulted the health authorities before setting the voting date.
