Club Brugge has kicked off their new season with a victory, securing the Supercup against Union. the team triumphed 1-2 on the road against the reigning national champions, signaling a strong start to their campaign.
Despite the win, Club Brugge’s performance indicated room for improvement. Key players like Ardon Jashari, who is expected to return, adn new signing Carlos Forbs were unavailable for the match. Ludovit Reis was the sole debutant in the starting eleven, with Nicolo Tresoldi making an appearance as a substitute.
Hayen provides transfer update
The club currently boasts three new summer acquisitions,but this number is expected to grow. Club Brugge is actively pursuing further signings,with Inter Milan midfielder Aleksandar Stankovic remaining a target,and a second winger also being a priority for the club’s wish list.
Head coach Nicky Hayen commented on the ongoing transfer activity, stating, “We are working on the club every day. There are a number of files where it is not yet balanced in terms of price and quality. the club is working hard on that. And we must be patient. Everything will have to keep going.”
Vanaken remains unconcerned by player movement
Club Brugge may also see some key players depart. Ardon Jashari has reportedly expressed a desire to transfer to AC Milan, while rumors also surround Joel Ordoñez and Raphael Onyedika. However, captain Hans Vanaken expressed confidence in the club’s strategy.
“Players will leave, others will be brought in,” Vanaken stated. “The club today is indeed not the club in September, but that is the case every season.Actually, we as players are not so much concerned with that. We do know: if quality leaves, there will also be quality.”
