Cloud Gaming: Geforce Now optimizes game streaming with AI algorithms

Since the beginning of March 2020, the game streaming service Geforce Now from Nvidia also the Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) 2.0 reconstruction technology. This optimizes the graphics in real time using AI algorithms. As a result, the user can select a lower resolution while maintaining the same display quality in order to enjoy a higher frame rate.

DLSS 2.0 has been available with RTX graphics cards from the manufacturer since spring 2020. The showcase for the technology is from Remedy Entertainment developed Control, which is now the first program supported by cloud gaming. Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries and Deliver Us The Moon are to follow later.

Actually, Nvidia is also very early Wolfenstein Youngblood for DLSS 2.0 optimized. Now the action game is not mentioned in connection with the graphics technology – although it is the only game that manufacturer Bethesda has not withdrawn from Geforce Now.

In addition to supporting DLSS 2.0, Nvidia has announced that 21 new games will be available through the cloud gaming service at the end of April. These include new releases such as Snow Runner and Moving Out, but also classics such as Stalker, Saints Row 2 and the Platinum Edition from Spellforce and the Definitive Edition from Dead Island. These titles do not support DLSS 2.0, but run with the previously known graphics settings.

Geforce Now is linked to the user’s accounts on Steam, the Epic Games Store, Origin and Uplay. The games that you have at the portals in your library can then be used via cloud gaming. With the free membership you can play for one hour at a time, but you have to expect waiting times when accessing the server.

For 5.50 euros a month you can play six hours in a row without waiting. There are ray tracing effects – as long as they are supported by the game. Geforce Now is available for mobile devices with Android (from 5.0), for MacOS (from 10.10), Windows PC (64-bit) and for the shield set-top boxes from Nvidia.
