Clinic visit in Quedlinburg despite Corona symptoms: woman acquitted

With its decision, the court followed the defense’s motion. The public prosecutor’s office had demanded a six-month suspended sentence for the now 72-year-old.

Clinic had filed a complaint

The woman was accused of visiting her daughter in the Harz Clinic in October 2020, despite suspicion of a corona infection. The clinic had made the case public and filed a complaint. The court justified its judgment by saying that any symptoms the woman had had from a previous flu vaccination.

Accordingly, the woman is said to have stated on the declaration, which all clinic patients and visitors must fill out, that she is symptom-free. Shortly before, she went to a fever clinic and had herself tested because of suspected corona symptoms. According to the information, she should have stayed at home until the result was available.

Planned operation was canceled

One day after the patient’s visit, the health department informed the clinic that the coronavirus had been detected in the woman. As a result, according to the clinic, a long-planned operation on a patient who had shared the room with the visitor’s daughter was canceled.
