And then there is Clemens Tönnies Engagement at Schalke 04. He has been Chairman of the Supervisory Board since 2001. Five years later, he pushed the powerful Schalke manager Rudi Assauer out of office. In January 2007, he landed the Gazprom gas group, in which the Russian state holds 50 percent plus one share, as the main sponsor for the club.
Clemens Tönnies: Success without scruples
