Classic million-euro BMW recovered stolen in Ponte de Lima

A classic BMW model 328 from 1939, stolen from the private collection of doctor Lopo de Carvalho, in Ponte de Lima, Viana do Castelo, over the weekend, was recovered from a garage in Lisbon this Monday.

The car disappeared in the early hours of Saturday, from a property of the Lopo de Carvalho family, in Geraz do Lima. Both family and friends made contact in an attempt to locate the vehicle that belonged to a collection of about 30 vehicles.

It would have been through a towing company, after an appeal on Facebook from a classic renovation workshop, that the BMW 328 was located in a garage in the parish of Telheiras, in Lisbon. The car was recovered with the help of the Telheiras PSP and will be worth around one million euros.

The BMW Classics Department in Germany had already been contacted by the owners to warn of the theft.
