There is no peace for the Italian coasts taken by storm in the last hours of a series of landings migrants. From Lampedusa to the Sicilian coasts in general, up to those of the Sulcis territory in Sardinia, there is a considerable flow of arrivals also facilitated by the activities of the Ong. The latter since they resumed their mission in the sea Mediterraneo they never stopped, helping to increase the arrival of migrants on Italian soil.
Ship last night Ocean Viking of Sos Mediterranee recovered 16 migrants who were on a fiberglass boat in distress 40 nautical miles south of Lampedusa and did so under the instructions of the Maltese Rescue Coordination Center. There are currently 180 people on board the boat and a safe harbor is awaited.

The latter in the meantime has been guaranteed to the 43 migrants who are on board the ship Ionian sea of Mediterranea Savinh Humans and recovered last Monday about 40 miles from the Libyan city of Zuara. The ship flying the Italian flag was heading towards Pozzallo for the transfer of migrants to its hotspot, but there are no more places there: therefore the green light came from the Italian authorities for the port of Augusta where the ship went. “We are happy for them– reads a note from the NGO- they have assigned the safe harbor of Augusta as safe harbor in Europe “.

The situation in Sardinia is not at all calmer: 15 other migrants, probably of Algerian origin, arrived on the coasts of Sulcis. Their boat was escorted by a naval vehicle of the Guardia di Finanza after the sighting off the beach of Porto Pino, in the territory of Sant’Anna Arresi.
Not even easy days for Lampedusa where only 8 landings took place yesterday for a total of 116 migrants of Tunisian origin keeping the patrol boats of the Coast Guard and the Guardia di Finanza constantly busy. It was precisely Sea Watch’s aircraft, the “Seabird” which, one day after its official presentation by the German NGO, has sighted among these five boats in difficulty. In the meantime thehotspot dell’Isola is packed with 200 people present when it can only accommodate about ninety. So the operations for its emptying are in progress. This morning about 80 migrants are transferring to Porto Empedocle via the scheduled ferry.
Right there in Porto Empedocle, in the harbor, there is the ship Zazaz’s camp which since last week has counted 28 positive migrants to Covid on board in the “red zone”. Cases of virus positivity have now increased by climbing to 30. In fact, two other people were infected. For one of them, the swabs gave a positive outcome with certainty, for another, the outcome is doubtful but it is still treated as a positive case. Yesterday, a positive 31-year-old woman who was on board the quarantine ship was transferred to the Cervello hospital in Palermo as a precaution because of the first weeks of pregnancy.
