Mexico City. Following the approval of the judicial reform, rank-and-file and trusted workers of the Federal Judiciary Council (CJF) decided to initiate the integration of a coalition called “32 United Circuits” and will ask the CJF to recognize them as valid interlocutors to defend their labor rights “in the face of the inaction of officially registered unions.”
In this context, they will request that “if a decision is made or working groups are formed to fulfill our mission and verify our general working conditions or rights acquired as a result of the labor struggle, it is this coalition and not the national leaders of the two officially registered unions, who are summoned as an active part of said work.”
The Day obtained a copy of the form that has been distributed among workers of all categories in the CJF circuits to be filled out with their name, signature and file number (worker number), and to corroborate their identity and position held, they must submit a copy of their last pay stub and some official identification.
In the call to join the coalition, it is highlighted that “the Secretary General Jesús Gilberto González Pimentel, who represents the majority union, his members have made various writings and public statements ignoring him and stating that he does not represent us because his position in favor of the ruling party and support for Judicial Reform without taking into consideration his members is evident.”
The text also states that “the majority of PJF workers who are part of these workers’ movements, from each headquarters, circuit and ’32 United Circuits’, decided to continue with the suspension of work, until such time as we are heard and our mission is fully guaranteed.”
The justice system will not be involved in this organization, as they are members of the National Association of Circuit Magistrates and District Judges of the PJF (JUFED), which has already announced that it will continue with the strike.
The decision to form this coalition, the document explains, came from “workers from each branch and circuit to work together to defend our rights as workers in the face of the announced disappearance of the CJF when the Judicial Reform is approved in the proposed terms and its eventual entry into force, as there is no certainty that our labor rights will be guaranteed. This is due to the inaction of officially registered workers’ unions that have remained mere spectators, instead of acting as their union representation demands.”
