City University of New York professor marches against dictatorship alongside Haitians in Port-au-Prince


Sunday February 21, 2021 ((rezonodwes.com)) – The Haitian crisis is becoming increasingly international.

Former boxer who fought twice for the heavyweight championship, the professor of the City University of New York, Danny Shaw, made the trip to Port-au-Prince to better understand the current Haitian crisis and walk alongside young Haitians who express their rejection of an unjust system favoring a predatory elite while the vast majority of people languish in intolerable misery.

Professor Shaw revealed that he attended a meeting on Saturday where more than 40 young Haitians and student leaders from the State University of Haiti “monitor and calculate whether the United States, the UN and the OAS will invade and occupy once again Haiti ”.

Danny Shaw, who teaches Latin American and Caribbean studies and race, ethnicity, class and gender, says he is marching against dictatorship on the day that Port-au-Prince stood up for another day of mass mobilization.

Danny Shaw holds an MA in International Affairs from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. He is fluent in Spanish, Haitian Kreyol, Portuguese, Cape Verdean Kreolu and fluent in French, and works as an international business analyst for TeleSUR, RT and other international news networks.
