A fire broke out in an apartment in Zurich-Altstetten on Saturday shortly before 11 am. Firefighters were quickly able to put out the fire. There were no injuries.
Shortly before 11:00 on Saturday, the Operations Center 144/118 of Schutz & Rescue Zurich (SRZ) received a report that there had been a fire in a building on Hohlstrasse. By the time firefighters arrived at the scene, some residents had already evacuated the building. Professional and militia firefighters from SRZ were quickly on site and were able to quickly bring the fire under control. The rescue service examined one person on the spot medically, but it was not necessary to hospitalize him. The affected apartment is no longer habitable until further notice. The other apartments in the building could be vacated after the checks by the fire brigade.
The cause of the fire is not yet clear and is being investigated by the fire service of the cantonal police and the investigators of the Zurich municipal police.
