Especially for the around 70 employees and their families, I had the hope that Galeria Kaufhof would hold on to the Osnabrück location until before the Corona crisis. Galeria Kaufhof is of great importance for the city’s retail centrality, even if its market share has probably shrunk in the past 20 years. We now have to see how we deal with the consequences for the city. I very much hope that the company that owns the property will quickly get in touch with the city about a succession plan. The location Möserstraße / Wittekindstraße is also important for the future of Neumarkt. “
