Citroën will open pre-order for Ami two-seater for short trips in spring 2020

It will be possible to buy a car, take it by installments or a per-minute rental, and a driver’s license is not needed for driving.

Citroën spoke about the start of sales of the Ami two-seater electric car, the concept of which was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 2019. The company is positioning the electric car as a vehicle for short trips and an alternative to scooters, bicycles and other vehicles.

The company will open pre-order from March 30, 2020 in France, and then in Spain, Italy, Belgium, Portugal and Germany, TechCrunch writes. The first deliveries are scheduled for June.

Ami is not classified as a regular car, so drivers do not need rights, and even a teenager over 14 in France and over 16 in most other European countries can drive an electric car, the company said. The electric car has a range of 70 km and is fully charged in three hours from a standard outlet.

Customers will be able to buy Ami for € 6,000 (about 430 thousand rubles), arrange an installment plan for € 19.99 per month for four years (1400 rubles) with an initial payment of € 2644 (189.4 thousand rubles), or use the machine as car sharing for € 0 26 per minute (18.6 rubles).
