PT Citilink Indonesia opened its voice after one of their planes made an emergency landing at Jenderal International Airport Ahmad Yani |Semarang, on Sunday (15/5) afternoon.
VP Corporate Secretary & CSR Citilink Indonesia, Diah Suryani Indriastuti, said that the plane with number QG 438 took off from Banjarmasin to Jakarta at 12:10 local time.
However, the plane was diverted to Semarang for technical reasons. After being diverted, the plane pilot decided to make a landing at 12:36 WIB for the safety and security of the passengers.
After that, Citilink immediately took anticipatory steps by checking and operating other aircraft according to existing procedures.
“Citilink took anticipatory steps by conducting further checks on the aircraft and immediately replacing the aircraft with other aircraft according to applicable procedures,” he said in a written statement.
Furthermore, Diah said that currently the passengers of the flight had been sent back to Jakarta with a replacement plane at 17:45 WIB.
The passengers, he said, had also landed safely at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport at 18:58 WIB.
According to him, the flight passengers were also given compensation in the form of: voucher and serve on ground in accordance with applicable regulations. His party has also provided an explanation regarding the incident to all relevant passengers.
“We, Citilink Management, apologize profusely for the inconvenience,” he said.
Previously, General Manager of AirNav Indonesia Semarang Branch, Mi’wan Muhammad Bunay, revealed that the Airbus A320 plane made an emergency landing at General Ahmad Yani International Airport at 12.32 WIB.
“One of the engines was damaged, so it had to make an emergency landing at General A Yani International Airport, Semarang. The landing went safely and well,” said Mi’wan, as quoted by Antara.
