On the page – Shock find in Munich! On the morning of March 6, employees of the city of Munich discovered the body of a woman in the Isar, the police announced on Sunday.
The body was found near the Mariana Bridge. City officials noticed the body around 8 a.m. while cleaning a bin for wood and leaves in the catch rake there. The fire brigade then took over the recovery of the dead.
Investigations by the police revealed in the meantime that it was a 30-year-old from Munich. The autopsy did not provide any evidence of violence, the background to the death is still unclear. The last contact with relatives had taken place two days before the discovery, on March 4 at around 12 noon.

The police are now looking for witnesses: Anyone who saw the 30-year-old between March 4 (12 p.m.) and March 6 (8 a.m.) or can provide other information, such as their whereabouts or acquaintances, should contact the police. Anyone who has seen anything suspicious in the area of the Isar between Reichenbach and Mariannenbrücke at the time mentioned should also contact the Munich police (Tel. 089/2910-0).
