Cinemas set to reopen on Friday

Another sign that Quebec is continuing its deconfinement, cinemas will begin to reopen their doors on Friday across the province.

The giant Cineplex announced on Tuesday that eight of its twenty cinemas in Quebec would reopen on July 3. The other rooms will reopen gradually throughout the month of July, it was specified.

Those who love dark rooms will, however, be entitled to a very different experience than in the pre-COVID era. In particular, the number of seats will be limited in the rooms and customers must be separated by free seats, to respect social space.

Remember that Quebec currently allows indoor gatherings of up to 50 people, insofar as it is possible to respect the rules of social space in the room.

In addition, Cineplex will keep its ticket offices closed. Quebecers wishing to go to a movie are encouraged to choose to purchase tickets online or to use self-service kiosks, in addition to reserving their place in the room. Only debit and credit cards will be accepted.

The Cinemas Guzzo, which will also reopen on Friday, have adopted similar measures to be able to relaunch their activities while respecting public health regulations.
