Cinema, theatre, music, ballet and photography, in the programming of the Gran Teatro de Manzanares – News from Ciudad Real

‘Manzanares en Escena’, the cultural program of the Gran Teatro de Ciudad Real in January, is made up of cinema, theatre, music, ballet and photography.

As communicated by the Municipal Administration, this Saturday 14 January, starting at 19:00, Spasmo Teatro will perform ‘The best play in history’, a tour “without words and with humor as a tool to reach the whole family” by some of the most important works in history and from the most significant museums in the world.

Dance will be the protagonist on Tuesday 17. Starting at 20:30, the kyiv Ballet will offer its ‘Star Gala’ at the Grand Theatre. While Saturday 21 will be the turn of ‘La cuenta’, “a light comedy that takes advantage of its simplicity to achieve its highest intention: to entertain and amuse”.

Tickets for these shows can be purchased at the Gran Teatro box office and on the Internet at Globalentradas. Both ‘The best work in history’ and ‘The bill’ have a reduced price of three euros until 11 January.

There will also be exhibitions in January in the hall of the Gran Teatro. On the 12th ‘La mirada profesional’ will be inaugurated, promoted by the AFOCAM ‘Quijote’ National Photography Award, which can be visited until 12 February.

CINEMA WEEK

As for cinema, the South Korean drama ‘Broker’ will be screened from 20:00 on Friday the 13th and the Spanish drama ‘En los márgenes’ with Penélope Cruz and Luis Tosar on Thursday the 19th.

For the end of January, the Municipality has scheduled the Cinema Week, which includes three films and a short film festival. It will start on Thursday 26, at 20:00, with the French drama ‘Goliath’. It will be spectator day, so the ticket will have a reduced price of 3 euros. On Friday 27th the public who will gather at the Gran Teatro at 20:00 will be able to watch the Spanish comedy ‘Historias para no contar’. And on Sunday 29th at 18:00 the American thriller ‘The Menu’ will be screened.

General admission to films —except ‘Goliath’— is 5 euros and can be purchased at the Gran Teatro ticket office starting one hour before each screening and via the Internet at Globalentradas.

The January program is completed on Saturday 28 with the ‘ManzanaREC’ short film festival, which will celebrate its tenth edition with a single session that will start at 7.00 pm and will cost 3 euros.
