Cilincing Police Detainees Take Covid-19 Tests to HIV

Jakarta: The Cilincing Subdistrict Health Center conducted an integrated examination of dozens of prisoners at the Cilincing Police, North Jakarta. This medical examination includes a Human Immunodeficiency Virus test (HIV), Tuberculosis (TB), and Corona Virus Disease 2019 (covid-19).

Head of Cilincing Community Health Center, dr. Edison Sahputra said the integration examination was in commemoration International HIV Day 2020. A total of 36 detainees attended integration checks.

“This activity is an early detection of disease for 36 prisoners,” said Edison in Jakarta, Wednesday, December 2, 2020.

The examination continues to apply the 3M health protocol (wearing a mask, keeping your distance, and washing your hands). A total of 13 medical officers were deployed.

“With this early detection, we hope to break the chain of spread of various diseases, both HIV, TB and Covid-19,” he said.

Kapolsek Cilincing Police Commissioner Eko Setio BW said the detainees were entrusted by the prosecutor. Examination is carried out before the prisoner is transferred to the correctional institution according to the court decision.

“This examination is a condition for them (detainees) to be transferred to their respective prisons,” said Eko.
