This was stated by the Regent of Ciamis, H. Herdiat Sunarya, Saturday (4/12/2021).
According to the Ciamis Regent, the closure of the square was in accordance with the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) Number 62 of 2021, concerning the Prevention and Control of Covid-19 on the Nataru holiday.
In addition to closing the square on New Year’s Eve, his party will also limit and tighten tourism places in Ciamis during PPKM later.
“This is to suppress the spread of Covid-19,” said Herdiat.

Furthermore, Herdiat said, not only the Ciamis square which will be closed later. However, the Kawali, Banjarsari and other squares are the same, on New Year’s Eve it will be closed.
According to him, this is to reduce people’s mobility, and so that people can stay at home and not go anywhere.
“So just celebrate New Year’s Eve with the family,” he said.
Meanwhile, for the closure of the square, Herdiat said, it was only for one day. Because, in Ciamis only New Year’s Eve is usually crowded with people.
“Ciamis Square is the busiest on New Year’s Eve. So later we will only close on New Year’s Eve,” he said.
The Regent of Ciamis hopes that after the Nataru holiday this time there will be no more spikes in Covid-19 cases. So, life can return to normal so that the economy can spin again.
