Freiburg (dpa / lsw) – The Corona crisis has made clear the “value of life in all its facets as a gift” from the point of view of the Archbishop of Freiburg, Stephan Burger. For this reason, in his sermon at the end of the year, which he had spread in advance, he recommended “Gratitude for life with all its possibilities and variants”. The virus has “deprived people of the ability to plan and control us and our life plans in many places,” said the bishop.

It is therefore all the more important for people to be able to look to God, “who brings stability and future into our lives”. Burger also thanked the church staff and volunteers for their commitment to benefit others during the pandemic.
