Chronology of Prudential Customers Losing IDR 6 Billion, Staying at the Office

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia Prudential Insurance customers decided to stay at the company’s office in the Sudirman area, South Jakarta to claim their unfulfilled rights. His demand is a refund that has been paid for the unit-linked life insurance product.

Citing detikcom, Coordinator of Insurance Victims Maria Trihartanti explained that these customers participate in a unit-linked life insurance program, namely death protection with investment benefits.

At the beginning, the agent promised that customers would get a 100% refund plus protection for 99 years after paying premiums for 10 years.

However, it’s not luck, it’s a stun. In the 10th year customers only get a 30% refund and still have to pay premiums for life.

From this, these customers are estimated to have suffered losses in the range of Rp 5 billion-Rp 6 billion.

These victims have tried to continue to demand their rights to the company, either through reporting to the Financial Services Authority (OJK) to submitting it through parliament in a Hearing Meeting (RDP).

But in fact this step still does not provide certainty until finally these customers choose to stay in front of the Prudential Insurance office in the Sudirman area, South Jakarta.

Separately, in an official statement, Prudential’s management explained that as many as 16 customers and/or former customers from the group visited Prudential’s office at Prudential Tower, Jakarta, Friday, January 14, 2022.

Until now, Prudential is still communicating with this group of customers and/or former customers to be willing to leave the company’s office area.

However, 16 people from the group of customers and/or former customers refused and insisted on surviving and occupying the Prudential office even though the time limit for operating the Customer Care Center operating hours had passed.

Of the 16 customers and/or former customers who insisted on not leaving the office, there were 13 customers who had already filed a complaint with Prudential and 3 customers had never filed a complaint.

Of the 13 customers who have filed complaints, there is 1 customer whose complaint has been resolved and has signed a settlement agreement, there are 2 customers whose complaints have been decided but they refuse to have individual dialogue.

Meanwhile, 10 customers who filed claims for 100% premium refunds could not be fulfilled and the decision to reject has been officially conveyed to the 10 customers.

Furthermore, as many as 3 customers who have never submitted a complaint to Prudential have been advised to first submit their complaint to Prudential so that it can be analyzed further.
