Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
Citilink aircraft with flight number QG 1107 on the Jakarta-Yogyakarta route crashed into a kite while landing at Yogyakarta Adisutjipto International Airport, Friday (23/10) yesterday.
The plane departing from Jakarta’s Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport landed in Yogyakarta around 16.46 WIB. Three minutes later, a kite was found on the wheels of the plane during the checking process after the plane stopped and was parked.
“When checking the plane, the operational team found the kite stuck on the top of the plane’s right wheel,” said General Manager of Adisutjipto International Airport, Agus Pandu Purnama in his statement, Saturday (24/10).
After further checking, said Agus, no damage was found to the Citilink aircraft.
“The aircraft is in safe condition and ready to continue the flight,” he said.
Regarding this incident, Agus appealed to the public not to play kites around the airport area. Because, it is very dangerous.
“If the kite gets stuck in the propeller of the plane, the risk of plane crash and the emergence of casualties is very high,” said Agus.
The ban, said Agus, has been regulated in Article 210 of Law No. 1 of 2009 on Aviation.
The rules prohibit anyone from being in a certain area of the airport, creating obstacles, and / or engaging in other activities in the area of aviation operations that may endanger the safety and security of aviation, unless obtaining permission from the airport authorities.
According to the regulations, violators can be subject to imprisonment for three years or a maximum fine of IDR 1 billion.
“We will take firm action against anyone who violates these rules,” said Agus.
Meanwhile, PT Citilink Indonesia’s VP Corporate Secretary & CSR, Resty Kusandarina said that the aircraft pilot had communicated and coordinated with the local tower to convey the events experienced.
The Citilink engineering team, continued Resty, had also carried out a thorough inspection of the aircraft and confirmed there was no damage. And certainly fit to fly again.
“Currently, the entire crew and passengers have landed safely,” said Resty.
