Everything indicates that the epidemic situation in our country will not change in the coming months. Many people are already wondering what about the visits of priests in our homes after Christmas.

We limit pastoral visits only to the blessing of new houses and apartments at the invitation of the hosts” – explained Fr. Wojtal.

This is a complete novelty compared to previous years. So far, priests have visited all residents who have shown their willingness to let them into their homes.

Christmas carol 2020 in the region. This is what the inhabitants of the region give in an envelope!

A Christmas carol in Poland

A carol in Poland is a popular term for a pastoral visit of a parish priest or a person representing him (parish vicar or deacon) in the homes of parishioners. A pastoral visit is one of the pastoral forms used in many Christian Churches.

The visits of priests to their homes begin right after Christmas and last until February 2.

How is the carol going

  • A table is being prepared with a cross and candles, and in some regions of Poland also with holy water and a sprinkler.
  • Parishioners can make a voluntary donation to the parish community on the occasion of Christmas carols.
  • Sometimes a snack or a joint meal is practiced.
