The Danish Football Federation (DBU) has the latest news regarding Christian Eriksen. The 29-year-old will receive a cardiac aid in his body.
Eriksen collapses in the middle of the Euro 2020 match between Denmark vs Finland at Parken Stadium, Saturday (12/6/2021). The Dynamite team midfielder had cardiac arrest, so the medical team had to help him with CPR (cardiac and pulmonary resuscitation).
After receiving treatment on the field for a long time, Eriksen slowly regained consciousness and was immediately rushed to the hospital. The Denmark vs Finland match was temporarily postponed, before finally being resumed and ending with Finland winning 1-0.
Condition Christian Eriksen is currently stable and undergoing intensive care at Rigshospitalet Hospital. Most recently, the Inter Milan player will receive an implantable cardioverter defibrillator or cardiac defibrillator implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD).
An ICD can help heart patients prevent sudden death from a severe abnormal heartbeat. Recommendations for the installation of this tool have been discussed with the doctor Denmark National Team, Morten Boesen.
Eriksen gave approval for the installation of cardiac aids in his body. This was confirmed by the DBU, Thursday (17/6/2021).
“After Christian went through various different heart tests, it was decided that he should get an ICD. This device was needed after a heart attack due to a heartbeat disorder,” reads the DBU’s official statement.
“Christian has agreed with this solution and his plans have been confirmed by national and international specialists. Everyone is recommending this treatment,” he continued.
“We ask everyone to give Christian and his family peace and privacy at this time,” the DBU said of the conditions Christian Eriksen.
