Chinese Ship Helps 7 Indonesian Fishermen to Sink in Natuna

Ship China rescued seven Indonesian fishermen at sea Natuna, Riau Islands early on Monday (6/29). Para fisherman it was helped after the ship sank.

“Yuan 28 Cave Ship evacuated the seven victims in the condition that six survived and one person died,” Head of Natuna Resources and Search Office (KPP) Resources Subsection Leo Umbara said. Among, Monday (6/29).

Umbara explained that the ship owned by an Indonesian fisherman that sank was the Sidik Motor Boat (KM). The fateful ship departed from Tanjung Village Harbor, Natuna at 16.00 Friday (6/27). The ship weighing 6 gross tons (GT) sailed towards Kuala Mempawah, Pontianak.

However, they were hit by a storm at 03.00 WIB Saturday (6/28). The ship was damaged to the point of entering the water and the pump engine was unable to dump water back into the sea. As a result, the ship sank around Seraya Island.

Shortly thereafter, there was a Chinese-flagged cargo ship. The ship was named Gua Yuan 28 on the China-Brazil route that was crossing the Natuna Sea. The fishermen then helped.

Help then comes. Fishermen are transferred to Natuna’s Search and Rescue Office (KPP), KN SAR Sasikirana. The evacuation process, said Umbara, takes approximately 6 hours.

“KN SAR Sasikirana has reached the Port of Ranai, Ranai, Natuna at around 3:40 pm,” Umbara said.

So far, the seven fishermen are still being handled by the Natuna Regional Hospital medical team. There were six survivors and one person died.
