BEIJING, May 11 (Xinhua) — China welcomes UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet’s upcoming visit to China in May, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Wednesday.
Ms. Bachelet’s trip to China will take her to China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The preparatory team from the office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights has already arrived in China and is currently under quarantine in accordance with anti-COVID-19 protocols.
