China publishes four new technical standards for Beidou Satellite Navigation System

BEIJING, Jan.12 (Xinhua) – China has recently released four new national technical standards regarding the Beidou Navigation Satellite System (BDS), according to the China Bureau of Satellite Navigation.

This is a huge step forward by China to standardize and ensure the development and industrial application of BDS by developing national standards, the office explained.

The four technical standards are used in a number of areas such as the data format, the mapping application, the ground augmentation system, and the BDS atomic clock.

These standards have been published by the Standardization Administration.

In the next step, China will continue to promote works related to technical standardization to support the design, production, test certification and exchange of data derived from BDS-related products.

China officially put BDS into operation on July 31, 2020, opening the new BDS-3 system to global users.
