China and India have completed the withdrawal of troops from the Himalayan border disputed area, where military tensions were heightened by the bloodshed.

‘Reuters’ news agency reported that the two countries began withdrawal of troops deployed around Pangong Lake in the Himalayas from the 10th according to an agreement, and that the withdrawal was completed yesterday (21st).

In a joint statement today, the military authorities of the two countries positively evaluated that the troop withdrawal in the Pangong Lake area was completed smoothly. It is an important step forward.”

The two countries also emphasized that “there is an agreement to continue dialogue and communication, to control the situation in the field stably, and to maintain peace and stability across the border.”

India and China even fought war in the Himalayas in 1962 due to border issues, but the borders were not established and the boundaries were separated by the Real Control Line (LAC).

Since May of last year, the two countries have been in conflict over the borders in the region, causing head-to-head conflict in the region, killing 20 Indian troops and inflicting 40 casualties to Chinese troops.

Thereafter, China and India agreed to withdraw troops from Pangong Lake on the 11th through nine high-level military talks.
