China Face Japan in Final

Sudirman Cup 2021 has got two finalists. China will try to defend its title by facing Japan in the final.

China’s duel against Japan will be the third time the two countries have met in this tournament after 2015 and 2019. As a result, China is always the winner.

China itself escaped after easily bulldozing South Korea 3-0 in the semifinals which was held at Energie Areena, Saturday (2/10/2021). Mixed doubles Wang Yil yu/Huang Dong Ping contributed the first points after winning two straight games from Seo Seungjae/Shin Seung chan 21-14, 21-15.

The party after that competed in the men’s singles number. Shi Yuqi made a comeback after losing the first game to beat Heo Kwanghee with a final score of 17-21, 21-9, 21-11.

Surprise emerged in the men’s singles after Kento Momota was forced to concede Lee Zii Jia’s 20-22, 19-21 advantage so Malaysia could extend their breath. Women’s doubles Mayu Mastumoto/Misaki Matsutomo determined Japan’s qualification after overcoming the resistance from Pearly Tan/Muralitaran Thinaah 21-19, 21-17.

Final Sudirman Cup 2021 between China and Japan will be held on Sunday (3/10/2021) at 17.00 WIB.
