China Develops Mini Helicopter Prototype for Mars Mission

KARANGANYARNEWS – Government China has developed a prototype mini helicopter for surveillance work on mission Mars in the future, according to the space science agency, after the rover’s historic landing on the Red Planet a few months ago.

The prototype is similar in appearance to the Ingenuity robotic helicopter, developed by NASA for mission His persistence this year, according to a photo posted on the National Center for Space Science’s website China on Wednesday (1/9).

The agency said the helicopter could be a tool for further exploration China from Mars, but did not provide details.

China landing explorer Mars in May in mission his first to this planet, being the second country after United States of America who did it. The most advanced explorer NASA, Perseverance, landed on the planet in February.

From explorer NASA Meanwhile, Ingenuity (Intelligence) made its maiden flight in April, rising about 3 meters (10 feet) above the surface, in the first successful deployment of a human-powered aircraft on a world other than Earth.

The challenge for the 1.8 kg Ingenuity is the planet’s thin atmosphere, which is only 1% as dense as Earth.

To compensate for the lack of aerodynamic lift, engineers NASA equips Ingenuity with rotor blades that are larger – 1.2 meters end-to-end – and spin faster than needed on Earth for an aircraft of its size.

Like Ingenuity, prototype China it has two rotor blades, a sensor and camera base, and four thin legs. But there aren’t any solar panels up top like Ingenuity, according to the photo.

Ingenuity has made more than 10 trips since April, covering an overall distance of over 2km with a flight time of around 20 minutes overall.
