China continues to import more fruit from Thailand

The peak season for Southeast Asian fruit imports has arrived in China. Thailand currently exports 22 varieties of fruit to China. According to statistics, Thailand exported $ 2.42 billion worth of fruit to China in the first half of this year, up 71.11% year-on-year.

There is a big room for growth for the sale of Thai fruits in China, indicated Phatthakorn Tanmanee, adviser to the consul general of Thailand in Guangzhou, capital of the Chinese province of Guangdong (south), specifying that a request had been filed to authorize the sale of several other varieties of Thai fruit in China.

According to him, Thailand is looking for solutions to transport its fruits to western China, for example via the rail-maritime transport services offered by the ports of Beibu Bay (Gulf of Tonkin), still in the autonomous region. from Guangxi.

Qinzhou Port, one of the main ports in Beibu Bay, has so far opened six container shipping lines serving Thailand, and offers five express missions per week to transport fruit from the Thai port in just three days. from Laem Chabang to Qingzhou Port, an official from the Qinzhou Port Zone Administration of the China Pilot Free Trade Zone (Guangxi) said.

The Pingxiang Rail Port recently received the qualification for fruit import control, and subsequently standardized the control of reefer container trains on its international lines, to facilitate the fastest possible access to goods. Thai fruits at Chinese markets.
