China, which was not invited to the two-day virtual summit along with other countries including Russia and Hungary, responded angrily and accused US President Joe Biden of stoking Cold War-era ideological divisions. Indonesia was also invited to the summit.

The reason Beijing calls US-style democracy a weapon of mass destruction is because it has been used as a pretext to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries.
“‘Democracy’ has long been a ‘weapon of mass destruction’ used by the US to intervene in other countries,” China’s Foreign Ministry said in an online statement, which was carried out by the Chinese Foreign Ministry. AFP.
Beijing also accused Washington of inciting a “color revolution” abroad.
China’s Foreign Ministry claims the Democracy Summit was organized by the US to draw the line of ideological prejudice. “Equipping and arming democracy … (and) inciting division and confrontation,” the ministry continued.
Instead, Beijing vowed to firmly reject and oppose all forms of pseudo -democracy.
Ahead of the Democracy Summit, China stepped up propaganda attacks that criticized U.S. democracy as corrupt and failed.
