The Hasbro company, which produces the “Trolls World Tour Giggle and Sing Poppy” dolls, has decided to withdraw these toys from stores. And for good reason, for several days, parents have complained about the strange position of one of the buttons of the doll.
It all started a few days ago when a mother shared a video on Twitter. She wonders about the sounds produced by the toy. As she shows in the video which has gone viral, when she presses a button located at the crotch of the toy, the latter pushes “Oh”, “Yes”, which she describes as “sexual” sounds. The mother also questions the position of the button, which the packaging never mentions, unlike another button on her chest that makes the doll sing.
Very quickly, a petition was launched. “When you push this button on the doll’s private parts, she makes little moans.” This is not good for a child’s toy! It must be removed from stores, ”the petition asks. “What will our innocent and impressionable children think of this toy?” How cool is it when someone touches your private parts? That pedophilia and child abuse are normal? “.
Following the controversy, the brand withdrew the doll from all these stores. “The toy was designed to react when the doll was seated, but we recognize that the location of the button may be perceived as inappropriate,” Julie Duffy, Hasbro spokeswoman, told our colleagues at CNN.
