The ruling of the Chiayi District Court pointed out that Dai Ning was prosecuted for violating the Corruption Regulations and other cases. After interrogating the defendant on May 11 this year, the District Court believed that Dai Ning was a serious suspect and was not detained. It is also forbidden to receive, communicate, and receive objects.
The ruling stated that, considering the fact that Dai Ning and his ex-husband Guo Nan, mother Lai Fu and other witnesses have relatives, friends or have known each other for many years, and the witnesses’ testimony is often different, to measure the progress of the case, the prosecutor and defense lawyer have both applied to summon the above-mentioned witnesses. Witness, Dai Ning may have a psychological impact on the testimony of the witness, there is still the risk of colluding with the witness, the original reason for detention still exists, and without detention, it is difficult to ensure the smooth progress of the subsequent trial and execution procedures. Therefore, from August 11 this year, the detention was extended for 2 months, and it was forbidden to receive, communicate, and receive objects (except for direct blood relatives or collateral blood relatives within the second blood relatives to send food and beverages).
According to the indictment of the Chiayi District Prosecutor’s Office, Dai Ning has been a member of Chiayi City Council since March 1, 1999, and was suspected of taking advantage of his position to defraud property. The 4 people fraudulently received public assistant fees in their names, making the Chiayi City Council Undertaker make mistakes and remit the salaries and year-end work bonuses of the 4 people to the accounts of the 4 people on a monthly basis.
The indictment pointed out that the account information of Chen Nan and other 4 persons was either managed by Dai Ning, or these people took out the amount in the account and handed it over to Dai Ning; Dai Ning defrauded a total of 5,187,774 yuan; Dai Ning denied committing the crime and never saw it. Remorse, the prosecution recommends that he should be sentenced to 24 years in prison from the weight.
