Turkish club Galatasaray would like to loan out one of Chelsea’s winter signings. But Graham Potter does not want to lend David Datro Fofana.
David Datro Fofana is coveted by the Galatasaray club. The Istanbul club would have contacted Chelsea to convince them to lend their summer recruit. The winter transfer window ending Wednesday evening in Turkey, the transaction therefore remains legally possible between the two clubs. But Graham Potter is not for this loan.
Graham Potter won’t let him go
The London Evening Standard indicates that the Chelsea manager does not want to allow the departure of David Datro Fofana. The 20-year-old only arrived at Stamford Bridge from Molde on a €12million deal at the start of the Premier League transfer window last January. With Molde, he scored 24 goals in 65 appearances. He signed a six-year contract until 2029 which includes the option for a further 12 months.
A player of the future for Chelsea
Although considered a signing for the future with Brazilian teenage midfielder Andrey Santos, David Datro Fofana has already made his debut with the Blues first team. He came on at half-time in the 4-0 FA Cup defeat at Manchester City and also featured in Friday night’s West London derby draw with Fulham in the Premier League.
