A new ploy is used. The thief swaps your license plate.
A new modus operandi tends to be used more and more by certain authors. It involves stealing your license plate by replacing it with a good quality reproduction provided with a DIV seal cut from an official plate also stolen.
The information was communicated by the Waterloo police area, which wishes to warn users.
“The reproduction is sufficiently well done not to attract your attention. As a result, the authors use your license plate to commit offenses without having been able to report it stolen for not realizing it.”
Obviously, the police zone has sufficient data to warn motorists and above all, advise them to carry out regular checks! “We encourage you to check regularly that you are still in possession of your original license plate.”

Other benchmarks exist to see that the license plate is no longer the original.“The official license plates are provided with the following security elements: Stamped seal, secure image in the shape of the National Lion, security filament between the blue and white area of the mark and finally, DIV watermark below the seal.”
