The castle of Châteaudun and the towers of the cathedral of Chartres are closed to the public, since Sunday March 15, in the strict application of government measures. Since Monday, May 11, the teams of the Center des monuments nationaux “have returned to the site and are actively preparing a business recovery plan”. Long awaited, the reopening must take place in a rigorous framework ensuring the total security of the agents and visitors.
Rethinking visit conditions
For each of the monuments, “this requires rethinking the conditions of visit and carrying out some preparatory work (one-way visit circuit, installation of hydroalcoholic gel distribution points, fitting out reception areas, respect for barrier gestures , wearing a mask…) ”.

The sanitary conditions allowing it and after agreement of the technical and prefectural authorities, the monuments will open their doors to the public in mid-June. The exact date and access conditions will be specified a few days before.
