As the police only announced after the incident was resolved, a wild chase broke out in early August, in which a police officer was injured. The man is also said to have escaped briefly in an ambulance after an accident, whose team wanted to come to the man’s help.

“Due to his unusual driving style, two policemen stopped a dark car with a Wels license plate on August 5th, 2020 at around midnight on the west autobahn shortly before the Vorchdorf exit in the direction of Salzburg. The hitherto unknown driver stopped at first on the gas and fled without lights and at high speed towards the center of Vorchdorf. At the level of a gas station, he probably came off the road due to the high speed and got stuck with his vehicle in a ditch. The driver made it by jerking back and forth – Drive here to free the car from the ditch. In the process, a policeman was thrown to the ground and was slightly injured. The company car parked behind it was also damaged. The driver then fled in an unknown direction. An immediately launched manhunt was negative. Only about one An hour later there was another “strange” Vo rfall. A silver-colored car with Gmundner license plates came off the lane and hit a guardrail. An emergency ambulance that happened to come along stopped at the scene of the accident and provided first aid. Suddenly the unknown driver jumped into the ambulance, drove away a few hundred meters, got out again and fled on foot. Due to extensive investigations, both acts could later be proven to a 34-year-old from Germany. He is also suspected of stealing the license plates from a parked car in the Czech Republic on August 5, 2020 around 2:00 a.m. Then he went to a nearby car dealership, broke in and stole a car from the sales hall. The man used it with the previously stolen license plates. In the course of a fuel fraud, the accused and the stolen vehicle could be registered by a video surveillance camera. In the morning hours of August 5, 2020, he stole two license plates again in Wiener Neudorf and mounted them on the car stolen in the Czech Republic. On August 5th, 2020 around 10:25 p.m., the 34-year-old broke into a car dealership in Wels, smashed two glass showcases and stole various objects. This act was recorded again by a surveillance camera. After he removed two license plates from a strange car just a few minutes later, the above-mentioned incident with the officers occurred in Vorchdorf around midnight. The car stolen in the Czech Republic as well as the license plates stolen in Wels were found severely damaged and recovered in the morning hours of August 6, 2020. The second used vehicle, which the German stole on August 6, 2020 shortly after midnight in Vorchdorf, was found on the Westautobahn in the area of ​​the Mondsee motorway exit, also totally damaged. Similar incidents occurred in Freilassing (Germany) in the late evening hours of August 6, 2020. The 34-year-old stole a car, broke several roadblocks, damaged police vehicles, injured police officers and engaged in a wild chase. Ultimately, however, the police managed to stop and arrest the 34-year-old. He is currently in the closed department of the Inn-Salzach-Klinikum in Wasserburg am Inn (Germany), the police reported on Friday in a press release.
