Biathlon player Lucie Charvátová won tenth place in today’s World Cup sprint in Nové Město na Moravě and recorded the best result of the season. Markéta Davidová finished 11th, who also missed one target.

Thanks to the fastest run, the race was won by the world champion and leading woman of the series, Norka Tiril Eckhoff, who, despite one penalty round, left the flawless German Denise Herrmann behind by 6.6 seconds. She was the first in history across categories to win six sprints in a row in the World Cup. Third was Italian Dorothea Wierer.

Thirty-year-old Eckhoff is once again close to her first triumph in the overall SP standings. She increased her lead over compatriot Marta Olsbu Röiseland to 113 points.

The bronze medalist from the sprint at last year’s World Championships Charvátová lost 39.7 seconds to the winner. “It’s great that I got better again. I didn’t expect it at all. I came into it with fear because I was motivated, aroused from last week and as usual, when I think it’s already going, I usually fall fast “I’m so glad I kept it,” said Charvátová.

David was 3.3 seconds slower. The difference was due to the rate of fire, on the track today David had about seven seconds better time. “Of course I’m sorry about that one blow, but I’m probably happy with it. I consider the number one to be still a relatively good performance. I don’t have cross-country skiing anymore. I’m trying, I think I’m trying to jump on the last hills, but that’s how it is “There’s just nothing more,” said David.

Two other Czech national team players also scored – Jessica Jislová took 31st place, Eva Puskarčíková was two places behind her. All Czech women had the same balance of zero lying down and one standing error. With the exception of Charvátová, who was inaccurate in the second shot, they did not hit the first target on the stand.

On Saturday, fighter races are on the program. As today, the women start at 5:30 p.m. At 14:45, men will set off in front of them. Of the Czech representatives, the twelfth Michal Krčmář has the best position.
