Thanks to the fastest run, the race was won by the world champion and leading woman of the series, Norka Tiril Eckhoff, who, despite one penalty round, left the flawless German Denise Herrmann behind by 6.6 seconds. She was the first in history across categories to win six sprints in a row in the World Cup. Third was Italian Dorothea Wierer.
Thirty-year-old Eckhoff is once again close to her first triumph in the overall SP standings. She increased her lead over compatriot Marta Olsbu Röiseland to 113 points.
The bronze medalist from the sprint at last year’s World Championships Charvátová lost 39.7 seconds to the winner. “It’s great that I got better again. I didn’t expect it at all.
