Charges Filed Following Arrest in Subway Assault Case of Autistic Minor

A teen suspected of assaulting an autistic minor is arrested at a Subway station in Washington Heights last week.

The arrested man, only 14 years old, faces charges that include aggravated harassment and assault.

It is not known at this time how many more people are being wanted in connection with the attack.

The incident occurred last Friday at the West 181st Street station.

According to authorities, the attackers approached the 15-year-old boy and yelled racist insults at him, before beating him.

Activists gathered on Tuesday in front of the station where the incident occurred to ask the municipal government to take action against this type of incident.

They ensured that children should not fear for their lives when taking public transportation.
