The Lorraine Republican –
150 students from the Saint-Pierre-Chanel private college and high school will participate, as part of an exchange with their German counterparts in Cologne, in a spectacular show which will be given at the Thionville theater on June 9 and 10 at 8 p.m. It is in fact the fruit of the work started by the choristers during the rehearsals of September at the rate of one hour per week. On the weekend of June 3 and 4, they will travel to Germany for a first performance, under the guidance of their choirmaster, music teacher Didier Gendt. Who is enthusiastic to see his project come to fruition.
Multidisciplinary work
The people of Lorraine will be accompanied by the symphony orchestra of the Hildegard-von-Bingen high school in Cologne, with which an exchange has been established for several years. German teachers are also on board. This multidisciplinary work allowed young people to express themselves artistically, to forge strong relationships with their friends across the Rhine, and to progress in the language of Goethe. Marine, a 4th grade student, is full of praise for this activity: “I am very happy to be part of this project. It’s a chance in my life as a schoolgirl to be able to participate in a show of such magnitude. »
